An Exciting Future
Abundance and Adventure
Humans are wonderful. Our potential as individuals and as a collective despite any failings and malice is still something that I imagine to be beyond understanding or imagination. There are a number of reasons for this that I will go into later but the main factor deciding if we will reach and live within our wildest dreams is if and how well we focus on and build towards that.
I have been working on my best guess at what kinds of systems would enable and accelerate humanities transition towards this vision. Some of the core pieces I’m working on currently with my work and in the next week I’ll have the overview posted here of what my guess of a better system of live might look like.
I liked the movie Tomorrowland simply for this reason that seems to make sense to me. That the only way we actually have a better future is to have faith that a better future is possible and to work towards it thoughtfully and with purpose and that the worst thing we can do is to not give it a chance. The name of this site “Decidedly Optimistic” comes from this idea that the first and most important step is always an act of faith towards the good. To face the challenges of life honestly with the good as the focus.
My hope and prayer is that we do this. Not as a naive optimist but as a optimism that is based in reality and set something like a science experiment and curious open minded pursuit of the good. To run the benevolent experiment.
What happens if we attempt to live out the ideals of truth, beauty and love?
