Decidedly Optimistic

Build as if the good version is possible.

My mission — and a tentative plan to get there.

I refuse to believe the most likely future is a worse one.

History, for all its horrors, points stubbornly upward.

So I’m choosing to build as though the good version is possible — because the only way to find out is to try.

My north star: to bring more truth, beauty, and love into the world through the things I make.

To do this, I started Amend.

amend /əˈmɛnd/ verb
to put right; to change or modify (something) for the better.

The name is the job: to leave people — and the systems around them — a little better than I found them.

So the plan starts small, and human.

  1. 01

    Stay genuinely connected

Build tools that keep the real, current you in the lives of the people you love — that’s Amend iD.

  2. 02

Help good ideas find each other

    — and find the people who can actually carry them.

  3. 03

    Build leverage

Build real leverage — better tools, warmer introductions, a little momentum — and put as much of it as I can into the hands of people trying to do good, so anyone with a worthwhile idea ends up more able to act on it than they were yesterday.

  4. 04

    Then compound

One honest project at a time — each a rep that builds me into someone who might take on something larger.

Plans are drafts. This one will be amended.

That’s rather the point of the name. If you’d like to build a piece of it with me, that’s exactly the response I’m hoping for.
